RELATED MATERIALS:
EPOXYCOAT two-component epoxy coating; DUROFLOOR-BI epoxy primer; EPOXYCOAT-AC anticorrosive epoxy primer; SM-14 solvent.

I. NATURE OF THE PROBLEM – REQUIREMENTS
- Walls of industrial and special-use buildings are exposed to mechanical stresses, chemicals and frequent cleaning, so they require a durable coating that is chemically resistant, mechanically strong and easy to clean.
- The coating should also adhere well to cement-based substrates and provide an aesthetic finish.

II. SOLUTION
- EPOXYCOAT is a two-component epoxy coating suitable for protecting walls. It resists diluted acids, alkalis, petroleum products, solvents, water and weather, and has high mechanical strength.
- It adheres strongly to cement substrates, is available in many colours and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. It can be cleaned easily and offers an attractive finish.
- On metal surfaces, use EPOXYCOAT-AC anticorrosive primer before applying the EPOXYCOAT finish.

III. APPLICATION
Substrate preparation:
1. Ensure the substrate is clean, sound and dry (moisture content < 4 %). Remove grease, oil, dust and old paints by brushing, grinding or sand-blasting. Fill cavities and cracks with a suitable repair mortar or epoxy putty and smooth the surface. Remove dust using a vacuum.

Priming:
2. On cement-based substrates, prime with DUROFLOOR-BI epoxy primer or with EPOXYCOAT diluted with 20–30 % SM-14 solvent (components A:B = 93:7 by weight). Consumption approx. 150 g/m².
3. On metal surfaces, apply one coat of EPOXYCOAT-AC anticorrosive primer (consumption about 150 g/m²).

Application of EPOXYCOAT:
4. Stir components A and B separately, then mix component B into component A and stir thoroughly for 3–5 minutes until a uniform mixture is obtained.
5. If necessary, add up to 5 % SM-14 solvent to adjust viscosity.
6. Apply the mixture in at least two coats with brush, roller or airless spray. The second coat should be applied when the first has cured but is still slightly tacky (usually after 12–24 hours at +20°C).
7. Consumption: about 200–300 g/m² per coat depending on substrate porosity.
8. Clean tools immediately after use with SM-14 while the material is still wet.

IV. REMARKS
- Ensure good ventilation during application because the products contain solvents. Wear protective gloves and goggles.
- The pot life of the mixture is shorter at higher temperatures; do not apply when ambient or substrate temperature is below +10°C or when the substrate moisture is above 4 %.
- Protect freshly coated surfaces from moisture. If more than 24 hours elapse between coats, sand the surface lightly before applying the next coat.
- Do not apply EPOXYCOAT on substrates with rising humidity. For exterior surfaces exposed to UV, a suitable colour-stable topcoat may be required.
- Follow the safety instructions on the product labels.
