Grouting of machinery

RELATED MATERIALS
- MEGAGROUT-101 – High-strength, non-shrinking pourable cast grout
- AQUAFIX – Rapid-setting cement
- RAPICRET – Fast-setting patching mortar

I. NATURE OF THE PROBLEM – REQUIREMENTS
Machine mountings are subjected to high static and dynamic stresses. The grout used between the floor and the machine must:
- Be of high strength to absorb static and dynamic loads.
- Provide excellent fluidity to fill the space.
- Expand slightly during the first hours and not shrink after hardening to avoid hairline cracks.

II. SOLUTION
MEGAGROUT ‑101 provides the ideal solution, as it is a fluid, non‑shrinking high‑strength cement grout with special admixtures that provide:
- Very good fluidity without separation.
- High initial and final strengths.
- Efficient bonding to steel and concrete.
- Resistance to impacts and vibrations.
- Low water permeability.

III. APPLICATION

Substrate preparation
1. Ensure the substrate is free of dust, oil or other materials.
2. Roughen the substrate to ensure proper bonding.
3. Thoroughly dampen the substrate without forming puddles.

Application of MEGAGROUT ‑101
1. Seal formwork joints with AQUAFIX rapid‑setting cement or RAPICRET fast‑setting patching mortar.
2. Mix a 25 kg bag of MEGAGROUT ‑101 with 3 kg of water using a low‑speed mixer until a homogeneous fluid mass forms. If necessary, add up to 0.5 kg of water to achieve the desired fluidity.
3. Pour the mixture carefully to avoid air entrapment and ensure the grout fills the entire space.
4. Keep surfaces exposed to air wet for at least 24 hours using wet fabric or polyethylene sheets.

Consumption: 21.5 kg/m² per cm of layer thickness or 2.1 kg to fill 1 litre of volume.

IV. REMARKS
- MEGAGROUT ‑101 can be applied at a maximum thickness of 10 cm per layer.
- Apply between +5 °C and +35 °C.
- Do not soften material that has started to set by adding water.
- The product maintains fluidity for approximately 60 minutes at +15 °C to +25 °C. At high temperatures, store bags in a cool place and mix with cold water; at low temperatures use lukewarm water and protect the formwork with thermal covers.
- Contains cement; follow safety directions on packaging.
